Newton House Tour to Visit Remarkable Residences

May 21; 12 PM - 5 PM

Owners of historic private homes in Newton open their doors to the public for the 35th annual Newton House Tour. Outstanding historic preservation as well as modern interpretations showcase a selection of styles in architecture and interior design celebrating Newton's rich architectural heritage.

The 2017 tour will feature six homes. The oldest is an 1871 Second Empire in a Newtonville neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. The tour also includes a Tudor near Lasell College and a Second Empire in Newton Centre with a carefully preserved exterior and a renovated interior. A Queen Anne in Newton Corner with an exterior makeover reflects thoughtful renovation. Additionally, tourgoers will view an example of condo living in Newton Centre and a Queen Anne in Newton Highlands with notable woodworking, glass and tile details.

Tickets are sold in advance for $35 per person. The day of the tour, tickets will be sold for $40. Historic Newton members receive a discount of $5 per ticket. Tickets can be ordered at historicnewton.org or by calling 617-796-1450. All tickets are held for pick up beginning at 10 AM on May 21 at the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds, 286 Waverley Avenue, Newton.
